The Trauma and Attachment Psychology Centre

Hello!

Let’s work together, gently exploring with care and curiosity.

Working at a pace that feels right for you.

We’ll explore ways to nurture and develop greater self-understanding, and build more secure, fulfilling relationships.

What Might Bring You Here

You might feel constantly on edge, overthinking, or struggling in relationships without knowing where these patterns are coming from.

You may notice

  • Feeling constantly on alert, like your body can’t fully relax

  • Overthinking everything, replaying conversations or expecting things to go wrong

  • Relationships feel intense, confusing, or hard to trust

  • You may struggle with boundaries, people-pleasing, or have a fear of rejection

  • Feeling emotionally overwhelmed, or at times completely numb

  • Feeling disconnected from yourself, your body, or your surroundings

  • Repeating patterns in relationships you wish you could change.

We take the time to understand and create a plan with purpose for your future.

There’s a reason you feel this way

These experiences are often linked to complex trauma when you’ve had to adapt to environments where you didn’t feel consistently safe, supported, or understood.

This might include:

  • childhood trauma or emotional neglect

  • inconsistent, unpredictable, or unsafe relationships

  • early attachment experiences that shaped how you see yourself and others

What is Complex Trauma?

Complex Trauma (also known as Complex PTSD or cPTSD) can develop over time, particularly from persistent relational trauma.

It can show up as:

  • ongoing anxiety or hypervigilance

  • difficulty feeling safe in relationships

  • strong emotional reactions, overwhelm or emotional shutdown

  • shame, self-doubt, or feeling “not good enough”

  • a deep sense of being stuck or lost

How Therapy Can Help

  • Understanding your attachment template, relationship patterns and what keeps these patterns continuing

  • Regulating your nervous system so you feel less on edge

  • Building a stronger sense of safety and trust within yourself

  • Exploring relationships in a way that feels clearer and more secure

  • Reconnecting with your emotions, body, and sense of self
